Drumheller Desert Wedding Photos

Where does one even start to explain about just how incredible Dustin and Paige’s wedding was?! My goodness, there was so much love and thought put into every single little detail of their special day. I think Paige takes the cake for the most detailed bride I have had all year and i’m loving every single second of it! I promise this wasn’t a desert styled wedding shoot, but it sure looks like it was thanks to all her gorgeous and thoughtful details she put into the day.

They started their day out by getting ready at this intimage, historic and beautifully kept home in Brooks, Alberta known as the CPR Engineers house. The character that has been left untouched and preserved from this 1911 home is incredible. This location elevated all of there getting ready photos 100x’s over. Us photographers are good at working with what we got, but I’m telling you that picking a picturesque getting ready location like this for your wedding is key to dream worthy photos. Nothing can relate the intricate detail from an early 1900’s home.

After doing the sweetest first look with Paige and her dad, followed by a first look between Paige and Dustin on the front steps of the home, we jumped on their party bus from TNA shuttle and headed out to Dinosaur Provincial Park for their intimate ceremony surrounded by their closest friends and family. Paige had the gals from “something borrowed by Dawn” setup the dreamiest decor in the badlands for her ceremony. They had everything from cow rugs, lots of pampas grass, and the cutest vintage styled pieces to tie everything together for the ceremony. It was breathtaking, and I definitely did a little happy squeal when I walked around the corner and saw it all setup, haha.

Once the ceremony wrapped up in the desert, we went straight into creating some raw, timeless, and beautiful portraits for Dustin, Paige, and their bridal party! These photos were a dream! Paige made sure to bring along her Lackofcolors hat, and her gorgeous custom denim jacket that matched her dress from Ruedesine. Just you wait until you see the photos below, you’ll know what I’m talking about! Of course, the start of the show was secretly their pup Tobias, he was the goodest boi ever! Never made a peep, and wanted nothing more then to just hangout with his mom and dad all day long, he was the sweetest. I 10/10 recommend incorporating your dog into your wedding day pictures.

Thankfully Paige and Dustin set aside a great amount of time for their wedding portraits, so that gave us the ability to sneak to a few different breathtaking locations and make stops at various locations along the way back to reception. One suggestion I always make to my couples is to make sure you have a bottle of champagne to pop for a fun photo, and I’m so glad they brought one with. (See photo below, haha.)

After wrapping up those dreamy wedding pictures, we headed back to their reception venue. One of my favourite parts of their day was how they had an intimate, and small ceremony with around 30 guests, and then invited all of the friends and family to the PARTY afterwards. It was the absolutely perfect blend for a stress free intimate wedding ceremony, mixed up with a big old fun small town party to dance the night away with all of their friends and family. If you’re trying to figure out how to plan your wedding without it feeling overwhelming with 100’s of people surrounding you the entire day, this is the absolute perfect way to get the best of both worlds!

Ok ok ok, enough talking about this day…even though I could go on and on and on about it all day long. Let’s be honest, it was an absolute dream boho/western + vintage inspired wedding and I am so incredibly honored to have been asked to preserve the memories of their day.

There is a long list of incredibly talented vendors who helped make this day happen that I will include the names of Below.
